For disability \nprogram purposes, a psychologist will not be considered qualified \nunless he or she;\n\n (1) Is licensed or certified as a psychologist at the independent \n practice level of psychology by the State in which he or she \n practices; and\n\n (2)(i) Possesses a doctorate degree in psychology from a program \n in clinical psychology of an educational institution accredited \n by an organization recognized by the Council on Post-Secondary \n Accreditation; or\n\n (2)(ii) Is listed in a national register of health service providers in \n psychology which the Commissioner of Social Security deems \n appropriate; and\n\n (3) Possesses 2 years of supervised clinical experience as a \n psychologist in health service, at least 1 year of which is post \n master's degree.\n\nAppointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in \nNew Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee \nmobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.\n\n<b>KNOWLEDGE &amp; ABILITIES:</b> \n\nKnowledge of the theory and practice of psychology \n\nKnowledge of medical terminology \n\nAbility to review and interpret medical information \n\nAbility to identify behavioral or emotional patterns\n\nAbility to collect materials for and prepare clear, accurate, and \ninformative psychological, statistical, and other reports, containing \nfindings, conclusions, and recommendations\n\nAbility to draft correspondence\n\nAbility to assist in the establishment and maintenance of the \nessential psychology records, studies, and files\n\nAbility to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or \nmanual recording and information systems used by the \nagency, office or, related units\n\nAbility to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English \nsufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
