All job specification data is sourced from the official New Jersey Civil Service Commission website. The data is updated monthly to ensure accuracy.

Is my data saved?

All data (bookmarks, org charts, preferences) is stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to external servers except when using the AI Resume Matcher (which uses your own OpenAI API key).

How do I apply for a position?

This site is for research purposes. To apply for positions, visit the NJ Civil Service Commission job announcements page at nj.gov/csc/seekers/jobs/ for current openings and application instructions.

What browsers are supported?

This site works best in modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported.

What is a competitive examination?

Competitive positions require passing a civil service examination. Candidates must take and pass the exam to be placed on an eligible list for consideration.

What is the Rule of Three?

The Rule of Three is the practice of certifying the top three available candidates from an eligible list for consideration by the appointing authority. Veterans preference can affect this rule.

State positions are with New Jersey state government agencies. Local positions are with counties, municipalities, school districts, and other local government entities.
