COUNTY CLERK
The county clerk is elected for a five-year term and keeps the county's permanent records: deeds and mortgages, business trade names, and in most counties the administration of elections including ballot position draws.
An elected constitutional officer is not examined. The clerks who do the recording work inside the office are classified.
