Definition

Under direction, attends the judge of the court to which assigned; makes proclamations and announcements; maintains order and security in the court room; swears in witnesses and jurors; serves papers issued from the court; in accord with state statute may assist in the apprehension, arrest, and conviction of offenders against the law; does other related duties as required.
