Definition
Under direction, performs varied tasks involved in cleaning field house and playground buildings which include public rest rooms, locker rooms, playgrounds and playing field areas; does other related duties.
Examples of work
- Dusts, sweeps, scrubs, mops and waxes floors.
- Cleans restrooms.
- Sweeps play areas and cleans up areas from assigned buildings.
- Oversees park equipment is not damaged or lost.
- Issues game equipment and its return.
- Checks that doors, windows and gates are secured at closing.
License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Ability to see that park equipment is not misused or damaged.
- Ability to perform routine manual operations.
- Ability to understand and carry out simple procedures.
- Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
