Definition
Under the general direction of the Commissioner, Department of Banking & Insurance or designee, has charge of the functions and duties that relate to the supervision and regulation of insurance entities; does related work as required.
Examples of work
- Organizes the work of the Division of Insurance into the offices, bureaus and other organizational units, subject to the approval of the Commissioner.
- Acts as Acting Commissioner in the absence of the Commissioner.
- Performs those duties as the Commissioner may prescribe or delegate under the Commissioner's direction and supervision.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

License
Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only in the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American sign language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
