Examples of work

  • Supervises and coordinates the work of all Deputy Attorneys General with regard to the provision of written and oral legal advice to all State departments and agencies to ensure the provision of high quality, uniform legal advice.
  • Consults with Deputy Attorneys General and recommends legal procedures to representing and presenting matters before State agencies.
  • Consults with Cabinet officers and other administrative agents regarding procedures to be followed with regard to the performance of quasi-judicial functions.
  • Consults with members of legal staff and administrative agents regarding the proper implementation of the New Jersey Administrative Procedures Act, P.L. 1969, c.410.
  • Conducts educational seminars for the legal staff and for State administrative agents concerning procedural and substantive matters in administrative law. Prepares technical legal documents, correspondence and reports.
  • Supervises the maintenance of essential records, reports and files.

Experience

Four (4) years of professional legal experience as an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey in the area of the specialty or, three years of professional legal experience as an attorney for State or Federal administrative agencies which shall have involved a significant amount of the specialized legal work, or, two years of unique specialized legal experience.

License

Admission to practice law as an attorney at law in the State of New Jersey.
