  • On behalf of the Director, has charge of the technical and administrative activities and programs of the Division.
  • Recommends policy, technical, administrative, and legislative changes and developments on Division's programs.
  • Evaluates and advises management on information needs in order to implement and maintain information systems that ensure the orderly and efficient handling of both long-term and other matters directly involving the Division.
  • Provides advice and consultation concerning planning issues which directly effect organizational goals and objectives.
  • Monitors the development, implementation, and integration of new programs.
  • Directs the implementation and evaluation of programs to ensure that necessary modifications are made and the plans and programs are balanced for cost effectiveness.
  • Reviews the preparation of plans and budgets.
  • Reviews and recommends corrective action to ensure the effective delivery of services to the public.
  • Directs the coordination of plans for impact of legislation and other changes on the Division Master Plan and existing systems.
  • Manages the work operations and/or functional programs of the Division and has responsibility for employee evaluation and for effectively recommending the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, disciplinary, and/or training of employees.
  • Oversees and provides guidance to staff involved in the study, evaluation, and servicing of community needs.
  • On behalf of the Director, acts as personal representative at meetings, conferences, and public appearances.

  • EDUCATION</b>
  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree.

Experience

Six (6) years of experience as an administrator involving planning, budgets and administration of programs in a large public or private agency, three (3) years of which shall be in a supervisory capacity.

Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated above on a year for year basis.

Master's degree in Business, or Public Administration may be substituted for one year of non- supervisory experience.

License

Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Ability to learn to utilize various types of information systems.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently. to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
