CAPTAIN
Captains hold command of a State Police bureau, troop or major unit, reporting upward through the majors and lieutenant colonels to the Superintendent. It is a command rank rather than a supervisory one.
Appointment to it is made by the Superintendent under Title 53. Corrections and county sheriff's departments also use the rank, and those versions are examined and appear in this database with specifications.
