Definition

Plans, organizes, conducts and supervises comprehensive ethics compliance audits; performs other related duties as required.

Examples of work

  • Plans and develops policies and procedures for ethics compliance audits.
  • Coordinates ethics compliance auditing with agency Ethics Liaison Officer.
  • Ensures that ethics compliance audits are performed on a regular basis for all State agencies.
  • Prepares and supervises preparation materials for use in compliance audits.
  • Prepares clear, sound, accurate and informative reports on compliance audits and activities containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Supervises establishment and maintenance of compliance records and files.
  • Arranges and schedules compliance audits.
  • Develops and carries out an evaluations system to determine future revisions in compliance procedures.
  • Provides advice regarding compliance methods.
  • Confers with all department and agency heads and develops a comprehensive compliance plan to meet their needs.
  • Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

Education

Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree.

Experience

Two (2) years of experience in civil law enforcement and/or experience involving organizational evaluation and administrative practices.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Knowledge of principles, methods and problems involved in planning, organizing, and administering compliance programs.
  • Knowledge of the methods used to collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and administrative, supervisory, and public officials.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate activities of diversified units.
  • Ability to plan and develop compliance programs.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and in making determinations.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with associates, superior officials, employees and with those persons involved in compliance audits.
  • Ability to prepare clear, sound, accurate ad informative statistical and reports of compliance activities containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Ability to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
