PRESIDENT BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSIONERS

Electric, gas, water and telecommunications service are the things a household cannot shop around for, and the Board of Public Utilities is what stands between those companies and their captive customers, setting rates and service standards. Five commissioners are appointed by the Governor with Senate consent, and one is designated president to lead the board and its staff.
