- <b>REQUIREMENTS
- EDUCATION</b>
- Graduation from an accredited school of law or the attainment of a Master's degree in industrial or labor relations or related field.
- For attorneys, two years of labor relations experience including experience trying or hearing cases before administrative agencies, or, for non-attorneys, it least four years of experience with administrative agencies with responsibility for hearing labor relations cases.
- Knowledge and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of courtroom procedure and conduct of administrative hearings.
- Thorough knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act and the New Jersey Employer-Employee Relations Act.
- Complete knowledge of precedential case law in New Jersey and apposite cases related jurisdictions, both Federal and state.
- Sufficient knowledge of law to dispose of procedural requests or questions at all stages of the hearing.
- Ability to hear, determine and recommend the appropriate remedial action necessary to effectuate the policies of the Act.
- Ability to conduct conferences involving adverse parties having specialized knowledge and experience the field.
- Ability to serve as the sole trier of fact in the first instance, with responsibility in representation cases for seeing that the parties develop a full and complete factual record, to which all subsequent considerations of the matters in issue by the Public Employment Relations Commission or the courts normally will be confined.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and decision all cases, which might be able to stand on their own merit under the scrutiny of the Commission and the courts.
- Good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others.
