Confidential Employees (Higher Level/Administrative/Professional) (V-W-Y) is the New Jersey civil service salary schedule covering unrepresented state employees. It runs from range 9 to range 35, and each range is a 11-step ladder from a minimum to a maximum. It took effect July 11, 2026.

The exempt counterparts to the main CWA units, covering confidential employees in administrative, professional and higher supervisory roles. Confidential employees are excluded from the bargaining units because of the nature of their work, but the pay structure mirrors the aligned schedule closely.

Across the whole schedule, pay runs from $39,358 at the bottom of the lowest range to $187,691 at the top of the highest. Working from step 1 to the top step of the same range is worth between 43.5% and 48% depending on the range, before any across-the-board increase. A title's salary code is this ERG prefix followed by its range number, so V9 is a V-W-Y title at range 9.
