BackgroundThe appeal of Eric Adams, Assistant Director of Finance, City of Newark, of his removal, effective June 28, 2022, on charges, was heard by Administrative Law Judge Leslie Z. Celentano (ALJ), who rendered her initial decision on April 15, 2024, upholding the removal. No exceptions were filed.
AnalysisHaving considered the record and the attached ALJ’s initial decision, and having made an independent evaluation of the record, the Civil Service Commission, at its meeting on May 22, 2024, accepted and adopted the ALJ’s Findings of Fact and Conclusions and her recommendation to uphold the removal.
ORDER
The Civil Service Commission finds that the action of the appointing authority in removing the appellant was justified. The Commission therefore affirms that action and dismisses the appeal of Eric Adams.
