BackgroundThe Division of Agency Services (Agency Services) requests the reactivation of the Senior Biologist, Mosquito Control title.
By way of background, the Department of Environmental Protection requests the reactivation of the Senior Biologist, Mosquito (01753O, P22). This title will be used within the Office of Mosquito Control in the Division of Fish and Wildlife to assist in the retention of qualified Biologists, opening the career path beyond the Assistant Biologist level to provide for career growth.
Agency Services indicates that it would be appropriate to assign this title to the competitive division of the career service. It advises that it has provided notice and the opportunity to review the proposal to all collective negotiations units and all articulated issues have been reviewed and resolved. Finally, Agency Services requests that the changes specified become effective beginning on the first pay period following Civil Service Commission (Commission) approval of these actions.
CONCLUSION
RuleN.J.A.C. 4A:3-3.3(a) provides that the Chairperson or designee shall implement and administer the classification plans.
AnalysisBased on the foregoing, a sufficient basis exists to reactivate the title of Senior Biologist, Mosquito Control to assist in the retention of qualified Biologists, opening the career path beyond the Assistant Biologist level to provide the opportunity for career growth. The salary range will be established as P22.
ORDER
It is ordered that this request be granted, and the Senior Biologist, Mosquito Control title be reactivated. It is further ordered that such actions be effective the first pay period following the date of this decision.
