CHAIRPERSON BOARD OF ELECTIONS
County boards of elections have four members, two from each major party, appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of the county party chairs. The chairpersonship rotates between the parties.
The deliberate partisan balance is the point of the office and the reason it cannot be filled by examination.
