Definition

Under direction, supervises and has charge of staff responsible for the maintenance and repair of voting machines; does related work as required.

Examples of work

  • Supervises the necessary mechanical changes, maintenance, and repair of voting machines.
  • Supervises the cutting and sorting of ballots.
  • Prepares requisitions for needed equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Supervises the allocating and routing of voting machines.
  • Insure prompt and safe delivery.
  • Supervises the establishment and maintenance of essential records and files.
  • Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording information systems used by the agency, office or related unit.

Experience

Three (3) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of office equipment, machines, and appliances.

License

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

  • Ability to develop effective work methods.
  • Ability to operate varied types of office machines.
  • Ability to maintain essential records and files.
  • Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
