Examples of work
- Prepares the technical work in the preparation of the board agenda, board conferences, conference reports and the board minutes.
- Takes notes, transcribes and prepares minutes of all board and board committee meetings and conferences.
- Prepares and organizes minutes of all public board meetings for printing.
- Supervises proofreading of galleys, pasteups and pageproofs in the preparation of minutes for final printing.
- Establishes, maintains and prepares the indexing of minutes.

Experience
Three years of experience in editing notes, transcriptions, records and copies of minutes to be submitted for final printing to printer.
<b>KNOWLEDGE</b>
Thorough knowledge of modern office methods, practices and equipment.
Thorough knowledge of performing highly complex typing and stenographic tasks.
Thorough knowledge of the internal organization and establishment policies, procedures, and regulations relative to the work of the secretary of the board of education office.
Thorough knowledge of the problems involved in the editing of copies of notes, transcriptions, and records to be published.
<b>ABILITY</b>
Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position. Communication may include such forms as American Sign Language or braille.
Ability to edit and proofread notes, transcriptions, and minutes to be made ready for printer.
Ability to organize assigned work, and develop effective work methods.
Ability to work harmoniously with associates and with other groups and individuals engaged in public meetings for the board of education.
Ability to use English correctly in transcribing notes and minutes taken at such meetings.
