- <b>REQUIREMENTS
- Education </b>
- Successful completion of four years of study, at an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience
Three years of experience in designing, initiating, and analyzing a research project utilizing acceptable research methods and techniques with particular focus on the application of statistical methodologies.
A Master's degree in a related discipline may be substituted for one year experience as indicated above.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
- Ability to comprehend the laws of the State of New Jersey and the rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures of the Department of Law and Public Safety and the Division of State Police pertaining to the gathering, filing and dissemination of police intelligence information.
- Ability to comprehend methods employed in illegal activity associated with organized crime and the investigative methods used to combat this activity.
- Ability to comprehend the intelligence process and analytical techniques as they are applied to the police intelligence function.
- Ability to develop research design and statistical methodology from which to develop complex analysis based upon economic, sociological and psychological data.
- Demonstrates proficiency in research design and complex statistical analysis utilizing economic, sociological and psychological data.
- Ability to analyze and interpret illicit market places from an economic, sociological, political and psychological perspective.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate intelligence reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to design and prepare appropriate analytical charts and graphic aids for use in intelligence reports to achieve maximum effectiveness.
- Good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others.
