Examples of work

  • Develops, recommends and implements policies, procedures and programs to insure the effective and efficient operation of all records storage functions at the New Jersey Records Storage Center.
  • Develops, recommends and implements the manual storage, micrographic storage, and electronic data processing systems necessary to insure the effective and efficient transfer, storage, retrieval, reference and disposition of the records stored at the New Jersey Records Storage Center.

  • Assures full utilization of the Records Storage Section's resources and the maintenance of a high standard of service to State agencies.
  • Supervises the work operations and/or functional programs and has responsibility for effectively recommending the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting and/or disciplining of employees. ,
  • Supervises program direction and training to insure safe, efficient and economical use of space, equipment and personnel.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relations with officials and agencies of State government to insure cooperation and compliance with records storage procedures, policies and programs.
  • Insures that agency and statutory access restrictions are carefully observed and that confidential records stored in the center are properly protected and disposed.

Experience

Six years of experience in developing, implementing and maintaining manual, micrographic and electronic data processing storage systems in a records center for a government agency or business establishment, three years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.

Applicants may substitute up to three years of college (thirty credit hours equal one year) for the three years of non-supervisory experience.

License

Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
