Examples of work
- When an order is received, obtains the requested films, slides or tapes from the film vault and properly packs and ships them.
- When films, slides and tapes are returned, unpacks and checks them, makes any necessary repairs and puts them into condition for reshipping and/or reuse.
- Replaces films, slides and tapes in the storage vaults. Orders replacement films, slides and tapes.
- Maintains records of the sources from which slides, films and tapes are obtained and of their shipment and return.
- Operates projection machines and/or tape recorders for lectures, previews, and other occasions as required.
- Maintains records of requests for films, slides and tapes and the sending and receipt of films slides and tapes.
- Performs other clerical work as required.
- May be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
- <b>REQUIREMENTS
- License</b>
- Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility,' is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Some knowledge of office and clerical routines and procedures including the keeping of records.
- Ability to acquire basic knowledge of the methods used in storing, packing and/or shipping films, slides and tapes.
- Ability to acquire some knowledge of the proper operation of projection machines and tape recorders.
- Ability to acquire some knowledge of the methods and procedures used in repairing films, slides and tapes.
- Ability to carry out directions.
- Ability to learn the procedures used in receiving, recording and filing orders for films, slides and tapes, in storing, packing and shipping films, slides and tapes, and in receiving and recording return films, slides, and tapes.
- Ability to learn the repair and conditioning of films, slides and tapes and to operate a motion picture projector and/or tape recorder and makes required minor adjustments thereto.
- Ability to perform other clerical work as required.
- Ability to maintain records pertaining to orders for films slides and tapes and recording and projection equipment.
- Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office or related units.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
