N.J.S.A. 11A:4-1.5 Notification of candidate status; certification notifications

Timely notifications of candidate status and certification notifications shall be disseminated by the Civil Service Commission electronically via mail…

Title 11A · Chapter 4. Examination, Selection and Appointment of Employees

In plain language

How the Commission has to reach you, and it is the candidate who chooses. Status and certification notifications go out electronically by mail, e-mail or text message according to the preference indicated on the universal application. Responses to certification notifications come back electronically by e-mail or post. Both directions are logged. Missing a certification notice is one of the most common ways a candidate loses a place on a list, so a section about message delivery has more practical weight than it looks.

Written by the NJ Civil Service Navigator editorial team from the text of this section. The statute itself is below, unabridged.

Current through the close of the 221st Legislature (L. 2025, c. 346). What that means

Enacted by L. 2021, c. 236, effective September 28, 2021. Never amended since.

A New Jersey statute changes only when the Legislature amends it, so a section untouched since its last amendment is settled rather than out of date.

Reviewed as of July 28, 2026. Official text: njleg.state.nj.us.
