N.J.S.A. Title 11A, Civil Service

The closing provisions of the 1986 act. Inconsistent laws are superseded. The rights of employees already serving when the act took effect are preserved, which still matters for anyone with continuous service from before September 1986. A long list of prior statutes is repealed outright. Two sections, on implementation and on an annual report, were themselves repealed in 2008. The last section sets the effective date. Nothing here changes how a case is decided today, but the savings provision and the repealer list are what you reach for when an older document cites a statute that no longer exists.
