The 2026 CWA salary chart for New Jersey state employees: the full FY 2027 A-P-R-S schedule with the minimum and maximum for every range, plus every step.
The Communications Workers of America is the largest bargaining agent for New Jersey state employees, representing tens of thousands of workers across the administrative, professional, and supervisory units. Its members are paid on the state's A-P-R-S salary schedule, and this page is that FY 2027 schedule in full: every range, its minimum, and its maximum.
Which employees the CWA chart covers
CWA represents five Employee Relations Groups, and they all share the A-P-R-S salary schedule:
- A — Administrative and Clerical Services Unit
- P — Professional Unit
- R — Primary Level Supervisors Unit
- S — Higher Level Supervisors Unit
- G — Judiciary, Professional Non-Case Related
A salary range code tells you where a title sits on this chart. The letter is the unit and the number is the range, so a title coded P25 is a professional-unit job at range 25. Each range is a 11-step ladder from a minimum to a maximum, and employees move up one step at a time.
