C-I-O salary schedule
The FY 2027 NJ C-I-O salary schedule for IFPTE-represented state employees: ranges 9–26, 11 steps, $38,641 to $120,579. Every step, free and exportable.
Crafts/Inspection and Security/Operations, Maintenance and Services (C-I-O) is the New Jersey civil service salary schedule covering employees represented by International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers. It runs from range 9 to range 26, and each range is a 11-step ladder from a minimum to a maximum. It took effect July 11, 2026.
The IFPTE schedule for the crafts, inspection and security, and operations, maintenance and services units. These are the trades and field jobs: boiler operators, inspectors, mechanics, maintenance and custodial staff. It runs on its own numbers, slightly below the CWA table at the same range, which is why a title here pays differently from an administrative title with the same range number.
10-month employees: September 5, 2026. Published as C, I, O; verified identical.
Across the whole schedule, pay runs from $38,641 at the bottom of the lowest range to $120,579 at the top of the highest. Working from step 1 to the top step of the same range is worth between 43.5% and 47% depending on the range, before any across-the-board increase. A title's salary code is this ERG prefix followed by its range number, so C9 is a C-I-O title at range 9.

The table is nominal, in the dollars of each year; the real figures above it are in 2025 dollars using CUUR0000SA0 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Earlier years come from the Commission's schedule lookup alone; only FY 2027 is also checked against the printed compendium.
