Information Technology staff perform work, both on-site and remotely, in support of the planning, design, development, operations, or administration of the computer and communications technology initiatives and priorities of the New Jersey Courts.<

LEVEL SUMMARY
Level 1 - Journey Non-Professional (Information Systems Technician 1) : Under close supervision, employees at this level provide non-professional support of IT systems. Operate computer systems and peripherals. Support data center operations. Provide level one help desk services and problem resolution. Install and maintain the least complex computer hardware and software. Level 2 - Paraprofessional (Information Systems Technician 2) : Under close supervision, employees at this level provide paraprofessional support of IT systems. Operate computer systems and peripherals at an advanced level. Support data center operations at an advanced level. Provide level one help desk services and problem resolution for more difficult issues. Handle the more difficult system and processing problems. Install and maintain the least complex computer hardware and software. Level 3 - Basic (Information Technology Analyst 1) : Under close supervision, employees at this level perform the entry-level professional IT work involved in system analysis. Level 3 Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. Employees hired by the Information Security Unit on or after 8/23/22, including current Judiciary employees from other units or locations, who do not already have the CompTIA Security Plus Certification will have one (1) year from their date of employment with Information Security to obtain the CompTIA Security Plus Certification in order to maintain employment in the Information Security Unit. Level 5 Cybersecurity Analyst+ Certification is required. Employees hired by the Information Security Unit on or after 8/23/22, including current Judiciary employees from other units or locations, who do not already have the Cybersecurity Analyst+ Certification will have one (1) year from their date of employment with Information Security to obtain the Cybersecurity Analyst+ Certification in order to maintain employment in the Information Security Unit. Employees advanced from an Information Technology Analyst 1 or 2 title from within the Information Security Unit who do not already have the Cybersecurity Analyst+ Certification will have one (1) year from the date of their advancement to obtain the Cybersecurity Analyst+ Certification or will be returned to their previously held title in the Information Security Unit. License (All Levels) Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. PHYSICAL ABILITY: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. The selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
