  • Approve the provision of technical assistance in the consolidation of boarding homes/shelter care inspections and evaluations in accordance with Federal and State rules and regulations.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and Management of special projects, grants, and innovative programs, and oversees said projects within region of supervision.

  • Coordinates at a regional level the State, County, and municipal responses to the homeless; interprets state and federal legislation and regulations for the homeless to the county; oversees and approves the development and implementation of service systems to provide necessary services to the homeless; monitors overall service plans for the homeless to insure service provision, continuity, and programmatic integrity.
  • Oversees at a regional level the development and implementation of county Family Court Service Plans as mandated by law; monitors service system to Family Court population as defined in county Family Court Service Plan; coordinates activities of seven divisions around providing maximal services to this population.
  • Prepares responses to external inquiries for Governor, Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner as directed; researches issues raised thoroughly; drafts letters for appropriate signatures, and reviews said responses prepared by County Representatives assigned to the region.
  • Prepares briefing papers for Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner as directed; researches problematic situations and presents all pertinent facts; recommends approaches and solutions to problems or potential problems; identifies individuals or agencies and their various positions on a given issue and oversees said tasks performed by County Representatives assigned to the region.

  • Education</b>
  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by a Master's degree in community planning, social work, public administration, or related field.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience as indicated on a year for year basis

Experience

Five years of professional experience in human services programs and operations, three years of which shall have been in the development and organization of community based social service programs of experience shall have been in a supervisory capacity

An additional year of the above non-supervisory experience may be substituted for the required Master's degree.

License

Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
